Lombardy – September 2004. Amidst the beautiful background of the Basilica of Saint George of Palazzo, built on the ruins of the ancient Imperial Palace , where Emperor Constantine enacted the famous Edict of Milan in 313 B.C., a solemn Mass was celebrated, by Order’s Grand Prior His Eminence Mario Francesco Cardinal Pompedda.
The Duke of Calabria , assisted by Prince Augusto Ruffo di Calabria, Delegate for the Order of Lombardy , presided over the investiture ceremony of new knights and dames. Among those invested were: Dr Fedele Confalonieri, Dr Mario Blandini, Major General Angelo Desideri, Brigadier Antonio Girone, Brigadier Antonio Minervini, Don Francesco Ruffo di Calabria of the Princes of Scilla, Count Roberto Giustiniani, Countess Alessandra Gargallo of the Marquis of Castel Lentini and Monsignor Giovanni Ravotti.
Among those attending the ceremony were: The Grand Inquisitor, Prince Carlo Cito Filomarino, the Grand Treasurer HE The Ambassador Antonio Benedetto Spada and Count Alessandro di Carpegna Brivio Vice Delegate for Lombardy.
