Basseterre, July 2016.  Anthony Bailey, OBE, Delegate for the Caribbean of the Constantinian Order, has made a formal legal complaint through Carter-Ruck solicitors against Freedom FM radio in relation to articles published in the regional news section of their website under the headings: “Knighthood scandal” and “Allegations of corruption leveled against Baroness Scotland”.

Freedom FM has removed the articles from publication and has published the following retraction and apology:

“An earlier article on this page alleged that Sir Anthony Bailey has been “misusing” his knighthood in the United Kingdom, and that he had been involved in the awarding of “bogus knighthoods”. The article also alleged that Sir Anthony had been involved in the campaign to select Baroness Patricia Scotland as Secretary-General of the Commonwealth.

In fact, these allegations were false, and we have removed the article from publication.

We apologise unreservedly to Sir Anthony for these accusations.”
