London, May 2015. Mr Mohammed Belmahi, former Ambassador of HM The King of Morocco to the Court of St James’s delivered a lecture at the luncheon of the Rotary Club entitled ‘The Position of the Moroccan Jewish community within the Anglo-Moroccan Diplomatic Relations from 1480 to 1886’.
The presentation by Mr Belmahi detailed the long history of the Jewish community in Morocco and Britain and their social, cultural, economic and political importance to the country. HE Anthony Bailey, Delegate of Great Britain and Ireland attended the event.
Mr Mohammed Belmahi was invested as a Knight Commander of the Royal Order of Francis I in 2003 in recognition of his major contribution to furthering inter-faith dialogue in the United Kingdom.
