Paris, May 2015. Delegate of Great Britain and Ireland, Anthony Bailey, attended State Mass in memory of Emperor Napoleon I and the soldiers fallen for France on 5 May 2015 at the Cathedral of Saint-Louis des Invalides in Paris at the invitation by HIH Prince Jean-Christophe Napoleon, Vice President of the Royal Deputation of the Constantinian Order.
The moving Mass was attended by senior figures of the French Republic and the Imperial Family of France headed by HIH Prince Napoleon.
The Mass was followed by a reception hosted by HIH the Dowager Princess Napoleon, where the Delegate Anthony met the former President of the French Republic, HE Mr Valéry Giscard d’Estaing.
During his stay in Paris, the Delegate also paid a private visit to the Grand Chancery of the National Order of the Legion d’Honneur – the highest honour of the French Republic founded by Emperor Napoleon I – at the invitation of its Grand Chancellor, Army General Jean-Louis Georgelin whom the had met the night before during the Mass.
The Delegate visited the unique museum of the Order, showcasing a magnificent collection of the Constantinian Order’s recently retired Grand Treasurer Ambassador Antonio Spada.
