London, March 2015.The British and Irish Delegation of the Constantinian Order, lead personally by Delegate Anthony Bailey, assisted the St James Roman Catholic Church in Twickenham, London with the unveiling of the new church benches.
The St James Roman Catholic Church was where Portugal’s last monarch King Manuel II worshipped between 1914 and his death in Twickenham in 1932 after which his remains were returned to Lisbon for a State Funeral. The Church will soon go under further renovation and see the addition of new stain glass windows to compliment the existing ones which were donated by the King and Queen of Portugal.
The warm and cordial relationship between the Royal Houses of Portugal and Bourbon Two Sicilies were celebrated last year when HRH The Duke of Castro as 54th Grand Master of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St. George, invested HRH Dom Afonso de Bragança, Prince of Beira, as a Knight Grand Cross of Justice on 3 July 2014.
HRH The Duke of Castro was also invested as a Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Order of the Immaculate Conception of Vila Viçosa and HRH The Duchess of Castro, later in the year, was invested with the insignia of a Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Order of Saint Isabel by the Order’s Grand Master HRH The Duchess of Braganza.
TRH The Duke and Duchess of Braganza are both longstanding and senior members of the Constantinian Order.
