February 2003. The Cathedral of Monreale, hosted a solemn Eucharistic Celebration on the occasion of the investiture of new knights and dames of the Order’s Delegation in Sicily, presided over by the Order’s Grand Prior, His Eminence Mario Francesco, Cardinal Pompedda. His Excellency Cataldo Naro, Archbishop of Monreale, a famous theologian and historian, was invested with the Constantinian Mozzetta from the hands of the Cardinal Pompedda.
Prince Alessandrojacopo Boncompagni Ludovisi Altemps, representing the Delegate of Sicily, Count Carlo Marullo of Condojanni, former Grand Chancellor of the Order of Malta and member of the Constantinian Order’s Royal Deputation, Dr Antonio di Janni, a representative of the Order, presented the diplomas to the new knights and dames. Among those receiving the awards were Duke Bent Parodi of Belsito, President of the Association of Sicilian Journalists, the Hon Mario Falzone, Deputy-Mayor of Palermo; Marquis Marino Sartorio of Analista; HE Dr Alfonso Giordano, President of the Court of Appeal of Palermo; the Rev Mgr Salvatore Grimaldi, Dean of the Sicilian Military Chaplains, the Rev Papas Luigi Lucini, of the Byzantine Greek Rite, the Rev Antonio Cipriano and the Rev Pietro Bumbalo.
