Duchess of Calabria gives birth to her first child and marks first Bourbon birth on Italian soil since reign of last King of the Two Sicilies

Rome – June 2003. The Duke and Duchess of Calabria announced the birth of their daughter, HRH Princess Maria Carolina, in Rome on 23 June 2003. This is Their Royal Highnesses first child and marks the first Bourbon birth in Italy since the reign of the last King of the Two Sicilies, Francis II, in the 19th century.
