Cagliari – January 2004. In the eighteenth-century Chancellor’s room of the University of Cagliari, His Eminence Mario Francesco, Cardinal Pompedda, Prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Segnatura and our Grand Prior, received an Honoris Causa Degree from the Univeristy’s Rector, Prof Pasquale Ristretta, who in the name of the entire Academic Senate of Cagliari underlined the essence of the ceremony that tends to deepen the dialectical relationship between faith and reason. Cardinal Pompedda spoke on the subject of the influence of the Canon Law on the Civil Law. In addition to the Rector, ten professors who together form the Degree Committee, attended including the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof Francesco Sitzia and Prof Pierangela Floris, Professor of Ecclesiastical Law.
