His Royal Highness The Duke of Calabria invests senior Saudi Princes into the Royal Order of Francis I - Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George

prince bandar al-saud Feb 2001 Riyadh – February 2001. During the visit, the Duke of Calabria decorated HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud(left) with the Grand Cross of the Royal Order of Francis I.

HH Prince Bandar bin Saud bin Khalid Al-Saud (below), Secretary-General of the King Faisal Foundation, was invested as a Knight Commander. Both awards were in recognition of the two princes’ major contribution to the development of greater cultural understanding between Europe and the Middle East, as well as for the many other international philanthropic initiatives they have developed over 30 years.

Mr Farid Ahmed Warsi of the King Faisal Foundation received the Gold Medal of the Sacred Military Order for his assistance with the organisation of the Duke and Duchess of Calabria’s visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Constantinian Order

The Sacred Military Constantinian Order of Saint George and the Royal Order of Francis (Francesco) I are ancient and internationally recognised dynastic Orders of Knighthood. The Constantinian Order is actively involved in the defence and promotion of the Roman Catholic religion, and together with the multi-faith Royal Order of Francis I, undertakes spiritual, humanitarian, hospitaller and charitable projects and initiatives across Great Britain and its dependent territories, Ireland and the world.
